Amer Fort, Jaipur

Amer Fort is of the famous tourist attractions in Jaipur. Recently I visited this place with my cousins after a long time. It was a most amazing day of last India trip and one of the most tiring one too. Extremely hot summer day, temperature had crossed scale of 45 degrees and bright sun.
Me and my cousins planned to explore Amer Fort of Jaipur, one of the historic and tourist place of Jaipur which was residence and proud of royal family of Jaipur Rajgharana (Royal Dynasty).

We had started our journey with Taxi of India aka Auto, we managed to convince autowala to manage Six people in one auto and planned to visit every historic monument on that day but because of extremely hot weather we canceled everything and ended up with just Amer Fort and Jaigarh Fort which turned out be not at all disappointing and turned out to be amazing beyond the heights of temperature.

Amer Palace also consist of Jaigarh Fort and both are located on the Aravalli range of hills and they both are connected by a subterranean passage (tunnel) which was a escape route at the time of war for royal families and others to Jaigarh Fort.

Amer fort was constructed from red stone and marbles and it was residence of many Rajput Maharaja and their families. It Consist of Diwan-i-aam (Hall of public audience), Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of private audience), Sheesh Mahal, Mahal for Maharani, Temple of Goddess Sila Devi.

We used tunnel from Amer for Jaigarh Fort which was around 1.5 Km and when my cousins asked me for that I agreed and excited but it's was too difficult for me as Jaigarh is on high hill and it was just like climbing mountains.

Jaigarh Fort was build by Jai Singh II in 1726 to protect the Amer Fort. The Fort was highly fortified with thick walls of red sanstone and it was located on the peaks of Aravalli hills and from there it provides a beautiful view of Aravalli hills and Amer Fort and Amer City.
Jaigarh fort is on one of the top most place of mountain range  which can't be reached by enemies easily during war situation. This was also used for storage and production of weapons. This Jaigarh Weapon Factory created a Canon named "Jaivana" which is the world's largest Canon on wheels till date. It was so terrifying that it wan never used in battlefield because enemies used to run away if they find that king is going to use "Jaivana". This is the real example of "Name is enough".

Our trip was ended in full circle and that ended up with negotiating again with autowala to take us back to our home in a reasonable price and for this we stood in a hot summer for at least half an hour and at last we ended at a price what he asked because we didn't had any other option.

If you go to Jaipur anytime then I would suggest to visit this place which is historic and at the same time pleasant as well.

You will get the full glimpse of Aravali Range here.
