I am from Rajasthan and one of my favorite place since childhood in Jaipur aka Pink City, and being this is a capital of Rajasthan this place is always busy with economic and political activities.
Personally the most lovable place for me in Jaipur is Bapu Bazar. Every time I visit Jaipur I would definitely go to Bapu Bazar at least once for about 4-5 hours for window shopping and this time also I am visiting here and today also it is as beautiful, colorful as always been and gives lots of options for shopping. This place never disappoints me.
Jaipur is known for
its royal families, forts and havelis and shopping of traditional handicraft
items. Bapu Bazar is situated right in the heart of Jaipur City, in Johari Bazar at
Sanganeri Gate and this market also resemble the pink color of historic and
royal Pink City.
Bapu Bazar is known
for all the traditional outfits, handicrafts, antiques, footwear, jewelry
pieces and beautiful decorative items. I am very fond of road side shopping and
this place offers a vide variety of stuffs at road side.
Bapu Bazar is a
major interest not only for localite but also for the tourists from all
over the world. I have been visiting this place since childhood and used to buy anklets, footwear, t-shirts and earrings etc.
Bangles and Jewelry
pieces of gemstones, kundan meena, chunky neck pieces, earring, bracelets and
anklets are lifeline of Bapu Bazar. If
you want to buy something good and traditional items then Bapu Bazar is one
of the best go to place. I would highly recommend visiting this place whenever you get a chance to go to Jaipur.
Whole street of
Bapu Bazar is full of vibrant colors red, pink and green which is eye catching
and gives a view of authentic colors of Rjasthan and Pink City, Jaipur. Moreover it
is connected to all the major roads and markets of Jaipur City.
If anyone is tired with shopping then you have plenty of refreshment options like Pani Puri, Lassi, Juice, Kulfi or Chaat items and many more. If I write then one page will be full of those options.
Lots of options in Mojari (traditional Rajasthani leather footwear) and other comfortable and flat
footwear and all are at very reasonable price. Lots and lots of handicraft items like puppets,
bandhanwars, wall hangings and white metal articrafts and home décor which
gives a unique and different looks to a home.
Every time I visit Bapu Bazar I have to purchase either a pair of anklets or wallets or something which is colourful and sometimes I buy items which I already have plenty because every time I see these wallets or anklets have something in unique. This time also I purchased bangles, pair of earrings, anklets, fridge magnets. You need to know the art of bargaining while buying something. I love bargaining with shopkeeper and Shopkeeper also know that customer will bargain for sure hence these people keeps a price little higher than their selling price to provide scope for bargain. I bargained with shopkeepers for decorative items got a little discount which is more satisfactory then going for 80% sale in a mall :):). But few stuffs are so beautiful that I want to buy even those even if vendor don't give me discounts:)
Awesome insights
